Fluorite Angel
What would be a good hardy aquarium plant, that fish won't eat ?
I have a 58 gallon freshwater tank, with a canister filter. My substrate is a layer of fluorite gravel covered with a layer of sand. The fish in the tank are an angel fish, upside down cat, 2 platys, 4 black neon tetra, flying fox and one balloon molly. I've tried vallisneria but it died as well as chain sword . I also tried Wisteria and elodea but both were eaten, I already have some java fern but I;d like some taller plants for the back. any suggestions would help.

Java Fern should get pretty tall if you just let it grow... Anubias, on the other hand, stay pretty short. For some other options, try Amazon Swords (they'll get quite tall and are very easy to grow), Water Sprite, Hornwort, Onion Plants, water lilies (Nymphaea species), and the like. Do NOT even bother with "umbrella plants" (Cyperus alternifolius or Selaginella willdenowii) and "white ribbon" (Dracacea sanderiana)! These are NOT aquatic; "umbrella plant" is a bog plant that must be partially out of the water (the leaves, at least), and "white ribbon" is terrestrial; neither will last much more than a couple months underwater before suffocating (they cannot exchange gas in any medium but air), dieing, and rotting.
