Citrine Hexagonal

Citrine Hexagonal
Can anyone identify these rocks?

Can anyone identify the stones in this necklace? The crystals of both of the colored stones are hexagonal. I was wondering if they are citrine, but I don't think citrine comes in brown naturally. Here is a photo of the necklace (best I could come up with):

Hexagonal crystals rule out jasper or chert, although they are the same color.
These crystals are opaque... no translucence at all.

It is hard to tell what a stone is from a photo.
I suspect you are right about them being some type of quartz.
Citrine usually refers to the clear gemmy material in a light yellow colour, but the stone can be any colour from almost clear and yellow through an orange/red to a dark brown.

Amethysts are usually some shade of purple but can be heated to turn them into citrine.

The darker colours of citrine can be hard to tell from some types of smokey quartz.
Usually the name smokey means a black or dark gray stone instead of brown but some of it has a definite brown cast to it.

I can't really tell about the larger pieces. They look more like flints or cherts but I cant see the fracture faces well enough to say.
Possibly agates or jaspers that have been chipped instead of cut by grinding.

That is about the best guess I can make.
Sorry I couldn't help better.
Any good lapidary supply or rockhounding store should be able to help much more.
