Diamond Solitare Loose
2ct, prong set solitare engagement ring changed to bezel set?
I have a 2+ carat princess cut solitare engagement ring. It is currently set with a four prong setting and it is very pretty but it makes me very nervous. The band also has small channel set diamonds. Would this look bad in a bezel set? I don't want it to loose any sparkle and I hear a bezel set will make it look dull. Thoughts?
It makes me nervous because it sits up very high and sometimes gets caught on or hit against things. I do have it checked by my jeweler twice a year but I'm still nervous.
It should be safe. A bezel cut will make it safer, but it will look rather dull. If you're really worried, get it in a setting with shorter prongs, but it will be fine as it is.
