I just came into a boat load of emeralds from zambia they are in raw form?
So im wondering what can I do to possibly make a profit on these rocks am I better off getting them cut and oiled or just sell them raw there some pretty gnarly size rocks .
The stones used in jewelery are mostly produced artificially so they are perfect quality. Natural minerals have defects due to weathering or inclusions. Rocks? Only the crystaline mineral form is of interest. Profit is dependent on how much you paid, the highway department will always offer some money for road fill. Seriously, the only commercial use is to produce a grit for grinding, much like its more pleantiful cousin the garnet.
