How Long will Scaling of a Tattoo Last?
I just got a tattoo 9 days ago... the top layer of skin is almost completely off... and now it looks like the skin is becoming white and scaly... is this normal??? second question is... i wanted my tattoo to be a garnet (dark red) and it has faded just a bit from what the top layer of skin looked like... will some of that color return once the tattoo is completely healed or am I going to need a touch up?? Thanks!!
It might be dead skin. Make sure you're moisturizing enough to keep it from getting too dry. The rubbing from moisturizing will also help some of that skin fall off. However, if you don't moisturize enough, you can lose pigment. Is it faded due to the white, scaling stuff or is the skin normal and it is faded? If it's just dead skin, this will fall off and your tattoo will be normal. However, if this is not the case, as you will see in a few days, you'll probably need a touch up later. If you're still uncertain, call up your artist. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
