What is your favourite gemstone?
My favourite gemstones are Moonstone, Topaz, opal, quartz, and Diamond.
Oh DEFINITELY for me Alexandrite...Secondly would be Aquamarine. Alexandrite, though it now hails from many parts of the world, originate (no copy and pasting here) in Russia, and the named the stone after Alexander the Czar) ~ it is a colour changing stone and is more precious than Diamonds....OH ! it is lovely!!!!!! I had one, lab created in the 50's and it was stolen, and even IT was worth a great deal of money...it was about 14 cts.~ Large hes I know, and smuggled into this country in a simple ring made in Mexico.The antiques store thought it was an amethyst and I got the ring for $15.00.....I cannot even begin to tell yo the worth of it, they had chalked it up to costume jewelry. Well perhaps someday I will again have one. thanks.......
