Opal Loose
Grandmothers Opal Ring...Help?
My grandma has been wearing an oval opal ring for about 40 years. She never took it off and gardened, washed dishes, etc.. with it on. Its almost an inch long and half inch in width. The opal is a bit loose in the setting. A jeweler told me not to touch it OR WEAR it because it could break at anytime and shatter. I wanted it polished and he said it was a bad idea. Anyone have anu info on this because I want to wear the ring,,,but it is VERY important and I dont want to break it. Thanks!!
Couldn't you take it to the jeweler to have it reset?
