does anyone else still call a snickers bar a "marathon " and starburst "opal fruits"?
it drives me nuts....why can i just remember the new names?
Yes, "Marathon" and "Opal Fruits" (made to make your mouth water) are the true names.
"Snickers" and "Starburst" are purely interlopers! Americanisms and branding fads. I used to buy them years ago but ever since the name changed I never really bothered any more.
I bet it was some corporate wide boy in his first suit that thought it would be a good idea to dispatch "Marathan" and "Opal Fruits" to confectionery's dustbin. Pillock!
We can only hope that one day the people who make them will see the error of their ways and restore the true names!
