Was this a steal or I was ripped off?
I went to the flea market, and they are this peolple that buy gold, while I was looking around I saw these green stones "colombian emeralds" and I bought them for $49 dollars, I ask him "were did they come from" he said that someone sold him a 14k ring. The smallest one looks like it was split in half probably because it has many inclusions, the other ones are fine with a piece of carbon here and there, should I go back and ask him if he has the other half. Was it a good price.

No, it wasn't a good price. You see such stones all the time being hawked at tourist sites in many South American countries. They may be actual emeralds or they may be less expensive tourmaline. Regardless, they are seriously flawed stones that have no value. One common trick is to soak these stones in mineral oil so that the oil seeps into the inclusions and makes them invisible. You'll find travel guides that advise that if you are going to buy such stones, ask if you can put the stone in your hotel safe overnight to think about it and if the vendor let's you do that, then you put it on a piece of paper in the safe overnight, if it had been soaked in oil, the paper will have a translucent oil spot on it in the morning. Even if the stones were good, setting them into jewelry is a major expense.
