Jay Boyle, Buyer for Jewelry Television, discussed information discussed today in a seminar about tanzanite in Tucson, Arizona, home of the annual Tucson Gem Show. Tanzanite production has decreased about 50% over the last 5-10 years. Current production only yields about 1 to 1 1/2% top color, making top color extremely rare.
