How do I restore the beauty and shine of my ring?
So I have a Pacific Fire Topaz ring, and have had it for two years. When I first got it it had a brilliant shine and color, but since then it has worn away. I clean it with toothpaste and a toothbrush(recommended by friends) but Im scared that by doing this I have ruined it. Also, the topaz is surrounded by ten white topaz's that also look dirty and dark. What do I do?

the topaz in your ring was coated with a thin metal to produce this kind of color effect. You should only clean it like you would clean pearls or very soft gemstones. Lukewarm water, dish washing liquid and a very soft/old toothbrush. Never toothpaste, it is far too abrasive.
You can soak the ring a short while in the soapy water. Do you brush the white stones from the back as well? Maybe only wear the ring for special occasions and take it off when using soap/hand cream etc.
Once the coating is gone, it's gone I am afraid.
