What are the most expensive gemstones according to rank. I already know diamond ruby emerald sapphire topaz
amethyst are among the top but what about the others? Like onyx or turquoise and where do they rank in most valuable gemstones?
I said they were among the top I didn't say in any order I know ruby can be more valuable then diamond.
Actually carat, cut, color and clarity are also a determining factors. A large sapphire or ruby of exceptional color, cut and clarity could be worth much more than a diamond of the same size with poor color or clarity. Same goes for the other gems. Quartz in general not worth as much, but then again a large beautiful turquoise stone of exceptional color could be worth a lot more than a little, diamond with lots of inclusions.
