White Natural Topaz

Help buying jewlery for girlfriend....?

It is soon going to be my girlfriend's and my 1 year anniversary. I want to get her a nice necklace, but know very little about jewlery. I was thinking I'd get her a blue topaz necklace because she was born in December. What size gem is appropriate? What is the difference in value between white gold, sterling silver, yellow gold, etc?

That's a very pretty necklace and yes, a pretty good deal.

I think as far as the color/quality of the metal goes - silver tarnishes and gets black while gold does not. White and yellow gold depends on preference - so, if your girlfriend wears more gold or silver, go with that.
There's a lot of superficial girly stuff as well, like whether gold or silver looks better with this skin tone and that hair color and blah blah blah - let's just not get into that - and if you really need a second opinion, ask one of her friends what she thinks about it.

I don't think your girlfriend will care about prices and whatever - the fact that you thought of (and go through) with buying her JEWELRY is what will matter to her. Good luck
