Which of these make the better diamond alternative for a ring?
I really don't want a diamond, but I really like the colorless look so I was doing some research about diamond alternatives and came across Goshenite Beryl and Zircon (not cubic zirconia). When looking at pictures of the gemstones they look equally a beautiful, however I've yet to see Goshenite Beryl in person and don't think I've seen actual Zircon in person either. They both seem to have their pros and cons to being an alternative to a diamond - Zircon being the running favorite, but Goshenite seems to be really good too. If anyone give me any advice here please let me know.
Also, I remember someone telling me about Lionette or Lyonitte or something that started off with the "Lion/Lyon" sound. If you know anything about this diamond alternative would you let me know too? Thanks.
If you're really going for the diamond look, you'll get closer with an asha which is intended to be a diamond simulant. The other alternatives you listed can stand in as diamond simulants but they're actually their own gemstones with their own look, they just happen to be colourless like a diamond. I'm not an expert so can't really compare the two to say which is better except that asha is better than both in terms of diamond replication.
ETA: Sorry, read that wrong, thought you were going for the diamond look, still, I would recommend asha, it's more common so you can find more user experiences, but then, maybe you want something less common. In my search for an engagement ring I had looked into both goshenite beryl and zircon and there isn't a lot of information out there, all of which I now forget. Like above, I would also recommend moissanite, which is what I also decided on. It is colourless or near colourless and has amazing fire and brilliance. If you prefer a whiter stone moissaniteco.com does colour enhancements. They are also introducing the new Mira, which is a moissanite cut like a diamond that maintains the moissanite shine.
